Inbox diagnostics

Check the address first, then check delivery.

Most delays are caused by an incomplete address copy, a sender's queue, or platforms blocking temporary email domains. Troubleshoot in order; you usually won't need to keep changing addresses.

01 · Check the address

Make sure the username, @ symbol, and domain match exactly, with no trailing spaces.

02 · Request a resend

Wait two minutes, then request a new verification code from the sender.

03 · Check the expiration

An inbox whose countdown has reached zero cannot be restored. Generate a new address.

Frequently asked questions

Can a temporary email receive verification codes?

Usually, yes. However, sending platforms can block temporary email domains at their discretion.

Will my original inbox still be there after I refresh?

The same browser will restore your access credential while it remains valid. Do not share links containing a token.

Why are emails delayed?

The sender's delivery queue may take several minutes. Request a resend instead of repeatedly generating new addresses.

Is a temporary email suitable for important accounts?

No. Use an email address you control long term for banking, healthcare, and accounts that require password recovery.

Can a forwarding alias send email?

No. Fwdaway only receives and forwards email; it does not provide outbound sending.

What happens to attachments?

Temporary inboxes never keep attachments; the list only marks that they existed. To receive files, sign in and use a forwarding alias: messages up to 50MB forward with attachments and stay in the 30-day archive.

How many temporary addresses can I hold?

One active address per browser at a time. “Change address” discards the old one instantly — its mail is destroyed with it.

A site says “temporary email not accepted” — now what?

The site blocks temp domains, not you. Switch to a forwarding alias created after sign-in: it is a long-term address that is rarely blocklisted, and mail still reaches your real inbox.

Do failed forwards lose mail?

Not immediately. Failed messages stay in the 30-day archive flagged “failed”; filter and retry them from the console. They are only removed when the archive expires.

What data does Fwdaway keep about me?

Temporary inboxes store mail only until expiry. Forwarding accounts store your sign-in email, alias list and the 30-day archive — nothing else. We sell no data; see the privacy policy.

How long is normal

Normal arrival times by sender type

Sender typeTypical arrivalIf nothing arrives
Major platform codes (Google, Microsoft…)Seconds to 1 minuteRe-check the address, then request a resend
Smaller site confirmations1–3 minutesCheck whether the site rejects temp domains
Newsletter / marketing confirmations2–5 minutesBulk queues are slow — wait before retrying
Alias → your real inboxA few extra seconds on topCheck the spam folder of your real inbox

Past 10 minutes, the sender has usually rejected the domain — retrying with a forwarding alias address is the highest-success fix.
